October 2023 OOC Intro


Hello, Visitors, and welcome to Ashbrook!

This post is a place for you to introduce yourself and your new character to the game!

You can also use this post as an opportunity to coordinate roles with other players! Are your characters neighbors, or perhaps even roommates? Do they go to school together? I can see a couple ways this could go. One could be that Break's situation is that he works with the local college's theater department in one of his "you use me, I use you" relationships, where he gets a bit of money doing practical and costume work and whatever for them and meanwhile they get use of his theater building for their productions. In that case the funky college credit works out just fine.

Or, maybe Break's a recluse who works solely on the community theater stuff, and Mayoi is volunteering to help him out for community service credit or something -- I remember in the National Honors Society in high school part of the requirements of joining was a certain number of volunteer hours, or he could be in some course that requires it for whatever reason. Maybe he chose that because set design is a large version of his dioramas or he's trying to help organize a theater program for the little kids specifically, like how here in Boston the Boston Ballet has the kids from their tiny kid ballet school in its Nutcracker production every year. There could be many reasons!!! I am open to hearing what direction you want Mayoi going in with this because I am not completely settled on a route for Break, I can see pros and cons to several different contexts.
